Built on holographic scanning technology

Every HIT Plater system traces back to our foundational, patented method for distortion-free optical exposure. Linear air-bearing motion control replaces spinning drums and mirrors entirely, delivering precise dot-shape accuracy corner to corner and consistent repeatability from one unit to the next.

In practice, that means ±0.01mm repeatability and 2400+ dpi resolution on every plate, without the maintenance burden of a rotating drum assembly.

Flatbed, not drum-based

Drum-based platesetters wrap plates around a spinning cylinder, which introduces distortion risk and ongoing mechanical upkeep. HIT’s flatbed, direct-to-plate approach holds the plate stationary and moves the imaging head instead, removing that failure point while holding tighter tolerances corner to corner.

Developed alongside CTP research

HIT has worked directly with Kodak’s CTP Research Division, among other partners, applying this scanning technology to real-world computer-to-plate research and production challenges.
